Merging Art and Science - Cell Imagery
This series is about making memories.
I collaborated with research scientists at the University of Arizona, and Dr. Matias Ison, a lecturer in Bioengineering at the University of Leicester, England, to merge art and science by using captured cell imagery and database mapping in mixed media prints.
This work exhibited in the TRIO Campus Center at North Hennepin Community College in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, throughout the summer and into the fall of 2016.
The images feature TRIO students and staff.
Joan Bemel Iron Moccasin is a fiscal year 2015 recipient of an Artists Initiative grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board.
